SENSEI MICHAEL LOOKE
Growing up in a rough neighbourhood drove Sensei Michael Looke to a discovery of martial arts, first judo, and then in 1990, to karate. His early training was with the Japan Karate Association (JKA).
The karate-ka Sensei Looke admires most is the WSKF Chief Instructor Sensei Hitoshi Kasuya, not merely because he belongs to his association, but because, to quote Sensei Looke, "he is one of the most open minded, approachable Japanese masters I have met, and his training and attitude have opened up a whole new world of possibilities for my karate."
One of the most rewarding aspects of karate training for Sensei Looke is having a hard session and knowing his students have tried 110%, and the continued strong growth of WSKF in Queensland is something Sensei Looke, with his students are continually working towards.
Sensei Looke works at the Union Institute of Language in Springfield Queensland where he works with international groups of students who come to the Institute to further their knowledge of the English language.
When not training or teaching karate, Sensei Looke can be found singing with his rock band The Full Contacts.
